2021 Collection

Theme:

Activists- Modern Day Warriors

The 2021 fashion collection, themed "Activists- Modern Day Warriors," serves as a poignant advocacy statement against the modern-day genocide attempt of MMIW, Boarding Schools, and representation in sports through lacrosse.

Fabric design:

No More Stolen Sisters Fabric: This fabric was designed by Kim, in outrage to bring awareness to the MMIW epidemic, which is plaguing Indian Country. Our cries and screams for support and aid with our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women have been dismissed. This attack on our women has not been acknowledged as yet another Indigenous genocide attempt. This fabric was created to give a voice to silenced women who have been subjected to abuse and assault.

Walela-Hummingbird Fabric: This fabric was designed by Janée to honor her family members that make pottery. Using water color to bring to life the beauty of hummingbirds to honor her grandmother and the Cherokee Hummingbirds stickball team.

Every Child Matters Fabric: This fabric was designed by Jasmine to honor her grandmother and great-grandmother and all of the other survivors and victims of the US concentration camps aka "boarding schools"  With base orange tones to support the national Every Child Matter's campaign to bring awareness to the "Boarding School" justice campaigns. The moccasins are a nod to her great-grandmother moccasins.

Clothing design:

No More Stolen Sisters Design: All models wear chiffon No More Stolen Sisters skirt & tank which reveals much skin as a statement of protest to society standards of sexualizing the female body. We are not your property or objects to be gazed upon. We should not be sexualized when wearing clothing that exposes any amount of skin. Transparent and revealing clothing does not give anyone permission nor a statement of consent. These outfits call out victimizers and their supporters and stand in solidarity with their survivors and other pissed off women who've had enough.

Walela-Hummingbird Design: Janée's design honor natives in sports like her uncle John. The skirt transforms with a snap to represent the Irish flag, in honor of the Irish Lacrosse team who withdrew from the upcoming 2022 World Games to allow the first Indigenous team to represent Native Nations at the World Games.

Every Child Matters Design: Jasmine's design expresses her heartbreak for all the children traumatized by the US "Boarding School" experiments. Her top transforms from a simple black top to revealing a heart, worn with a modern Indigenous traditional ribbon skirt. The outfit is completed with her great-grandmothers moccasins. Worn to bring her great-grandmother healing on the runway and to heal the intergenerational trauma in her veins.
