Call for Proposals: CORE Logo and Brand Materials

The Coalition for Outdoor Renaming and Education (CORE) seeks proposals from talented artists to create a distinctive logo and brand materials that reflect our mission and values. CORE is dedicated to making outdoor spaces more inclusive and welcoming by eliminating place names, that are racist, derogatory, and honor individuals of moral turpitude. Our work is rooted in the reality that these lands were violently stolen from Tribal Nations, and that the processes of Native land theft included the removal and replacement of Indigenous names from the landscape. Our mission is to promote reconciliation, justice, education, and access by fostering inclusivity, celebrating diverse cultural legacies, and honoring the histories of our landscapes.

 

Scope of Work: We are seeking proposals for the following:

1. Logo Design: Create a logo visually representing CORE's mission and values. The logo should be versatile, memorable, and easily recognizable.

2. Brand Materials: Develop accompanying brand materials, including but not limited to:

   • Color palette

   • Typography

   • Website header and footer designs

 

Submission Requirements:

• Interested artists should submit a proposal outlining their approach to the project, including their understanding of CORE's mission and how their design will effectively communicate our values.

• Proposals should include a portfolio showcasing previous logo design and branding work.

• Artists are encouraged to include rough sketches or mockups of their proposed logo and brand materials.

• All submissions must be emailed to renaming.coalition@gmail.com by April 14, 2024.

 

Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Creativity and originality of the design concept

• Alignment with CORE's mission and values

• Clarity and effectiveness in communicating the organization's identity

• Demonstrated experience and expertise in logo design and branding

 

Timeline:

• Call for proposals issued: April 1, 2024

• Deadline for submissions: April 14, 2024

• Review and selection process: April 14, 2024 – April 28, 2024

• Announcement of selected artist: April 28, 2024

 

Compensation: The selected artist will receive $1,000 for their work. Additional compensation may be negotiated for ongoing collaboration on branding materials as needed.
